Mady is a CDIS and ASL double major who joined the lab in Fall 2023 to work on thematic analysis for the Deaf Experience, Deaf Expression (DXDX) project.

"After spending the last two years as a double major in American Sign Language studies and communication sciences & disorders, I began to see the value in having an abundance of information and connection to the Deaf community for people who are deaf, hard of hearing, a child of deaf adults, or a parent of a deaf or hard of hearing child. Once I learned about the project through my deaf communication and education class, I knew that I just had to join! I am especially excited to join the thematic analysis team because it incorporates many ideas and realities that have been discussed in my previous Deaf culture classes. Although I plan on becoming a speech-language pathologist or an audiologist (I'm not quite sure which yet), I plan on remaining involved in the Deaf Community through whichever path I take!"
