Mattie Grace is the Thematic Analysis Manager for the Deaf Experience, Deaf Expression (DXDX) Project. She joined the lab as a CDIS major in Fall 2023 to work on data collection and processing for the Impressions of CI User Speech project. In Spring 2024, she began working on thematic analysis for DXDX. She graduated and started our master's program in Fall 2024, when she became a Graduate Teaching Assistant for the project.

"Being part of the research team at the SoPhon Lab has been helpful preparation and experience as I move closer to graduate school and a career in speech-language pathology, where quality research plays an integral role in the field. While taking ASL classes, I have loved interacting with the Deaf community and valued the insights into the ways language and communication influence everyday life for those with hearing loss. I'm thankful for the opportunity to study these dynamics in depth at Oklahoma State."
