Rate-matching paper accepted8/16/2017 The Journal of the Acoustical Society of America just accepted my paper with David Pisoni titled "Speech rate, speech rate-matching, and intelligibility in cochlear implant users."
Rate-matching data collection3/19/2017 I've started data collection on a new experiment that examines whether young adults converge toward the speech rate of cochlear implant users who vary in speech intelligibility and speech rate.
Just got notice of acceptance to the Saturday-morning LSA (Linguistic Society of America) poster session for "Speech rate, rate-matching, and intelligibility: Evidence from cochlear implant users" in Austin in January. The relationships between these linguistic factors are hard to determine in non-clinical populations because they normally function at ceiling, but we can learn more about them in clinical populations who show large individual differences, like CI users.
